The hotel had the most charming electrical system, with potential problems lurking around every corner. Who doesn't love the excitement of wondering when a fire might break out?
The lack of a functioning toilet made for a truly awe-inspiring bathroom experience.

The breakfast is fantastic! The hosts, John and Geoffrey, are lovely. The bed is comfortable and it's quiet. Parking is available right outside.

The whole place is a gem of a hotel, the owners were friendly, helpful, warm and inviting. The hotel is fun to be in, full of quirky, interesting, historical items. The breakfasts were amazing, plenty of choice for every palate, nothing was too much trouble. The library is extensive and covers everybody's taste.

breakfast in the morning was great. Homemade pancakes, bacon, the works.

The room had a nice attached bathroom and the breakfast was cooked to order. the pancakes were particularly delicious. I also appreciated being able to use the kettle in the front lounge to make a drink outside of breakfast hours. the host was entertaining and allowed us to check in early, which was a nice gesture.
The room was dusty and overcrowded, with mismatched and old bedding. the bathroom was spacious but also dusty along the baseboards.

full english breakfast, good location, nice personal/owner
only disadvantage was that whole house and also rooms were overcrowded with lot of antiquities ( I mean really lof ot). It was difficult to bring luggage to room - very thin corridors and overcrowded with 'antiquities'

More like a museum than an hotel. Full of souvenirs from bygone ages. A must see!
Room is bit small. Well with all those books, pictures, antiques!

The value for money at this hotel was great, and the room itself was comfortable and cozy. The location was convenient, and the staff treated us with kindness and professionalism.
The breakfast menu could benefit from more variety and options.

The house is a charming Victorian row-house, as is much of the Old Cabbagetown neighborhood of Toronto. The hotel staff was very friendly, and cooked a wonderful breakfast! Our room was on the 3rd floor (walk up), was very comfortable and had an outside deck that we could use. There are shops, pubs and restaurants throughout the neighborhood, and it is near to public transportation around Toronto.

Lots of character, everyone was very nice. The room was clean, but overall,. the house is very cluttered with antiques and odd collectibles. We thought is was charming, but it may not be for everyone.
Location was alright (near the streetcar, only a couple of miles from the sights), but not exactly central. Some shady characters in the nearby park.
